In the upcoming VIS conference, Marianne Moen and Svein Gullbekk will both do a presentation concerning sacrifice and trust during the Viking age.
Marianne Moen will discuss how accepted narratives of sacrifice pertaining to the Viking Age play a part in shaping perceptions of the period by problematizing how dominant narratives perpetuate fixed interpretations, and how these, in turn, shape the ongoing output of new knowledge.
