Exhibition Architecture Project

The project investigates how an exhibition, its objects and architecture balance artistic fascination, spiritual experiences and dogmatic content in one and the same room.

This project is based on the fact that the renowned architect Sverre Fehn's exhibition architecture from 1979 in the Medieval Hall at the Historical museum is closing. In the period leading up to the new exhibition "Heritage", which is opening in 2022, the Exhibition Architecture Project is a conceptual dismantling and deconstruction of a long-lived exhibition and the production of a new one.

In what ways does a room, its objects and architecture have power to influence people on different levels – through knowledge, sensory impressions and bodily experiences? How does exhibition architecture and objects interact?
