After the Black Death: Painting and Polychrome Sculpture in Norway 1350-1550

A round table discussion relating to the 1979 Sverre Fehn medieval exhibition in Museum of Cultural History, Oslo University. The participants all have first hand experience from working with this exhibition in the late 1970s. Time and place: Jun 13, 2016 01:00 PM - 04:00 PM,  Museum of Cultural History, Fredriksgate 2

Participants in the round table discussion will include:

Svein Wiik (conservator)

Tom Wike (architect)

Petter Molaug (archaeologist)

Inger-Helene Wibe-Myller (archaeologist)

Unn Plahter (conservation scientist)

Dr Unn Plather was employed as conservation scientist at the museum. The other participants worked with Sverre Fehn during the exhibition conceptualization and installation.

The group discussion is a chance for their voices to be heard, given the current intensive debates around the Sverre Fehn exhibition as well as the potential move into the National Gallery building. I subsequently intend to publish a paper that will include outcomes of this discussion.

Some points to be discussed will include:

Sverre Fehn’s conceptualization

Aesthetics of the exhibition

Martin Blindheim’s involvement

Selection of sculptures and objects for display
