On November 24, Knut Christian Myhre and Douglas Holmes will organize and chair a panel at this year's joint annual meeting by the American Anthropological Association (AAA) and the Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA).

The meeting will take place in Vancouver, Canada, November 19-24, with the theme Changing Climates/Changer d'Air.

The panel organized by Myhre and Holmes is entitled Engaging Macroeconomics: Ethnographic Explorations of the Contemporary Welfare State and Beyond

The panel aims to engage and explore concepts and practices pertaining to macroeconomics in ethnographic terms, in order to push beyond dominant microeconomic and political economy perspectives in anthropology.

The panel presenters will be Kelly McKowen, Anette Nyqvist, Ainur Begim, Daromir Rudnyckyj, David Westbrook, and Knut Christian Myhre, who will draw on ethnographic work from Norway, Sweden, USA, and Malaysia. Douglas Holmes will replace Janet Roitman as the panel discussant.

Hope to see you there!
