PhD fellowships at Museum of Cultural History

The Museum of Cultural History has eight fellowships and announces two fellowships each year within the museum's focus areas, while two of the fellowships are reserved for other research needs that might arise. I addition, the museum has several research fellows financed by external sources.

The majority of the museum’s research fellows are PhD students, but the museum also employs fellows in post-doc positions. Positions are announced on the University of Oslo’s web pages, in the vacant positions database of the Norwegian Labour and Welfare administration (NAV), and in the European mobility portal EURAXESS.

The Museum of Cultural History does not have a PhD program. Hence, fellows employed by the museum have to apply for admission at a PhD program at a faculty offering such program within her/his discipline. However, the museum emphasizes the importance of linking fellows to the researchers and research environments at the museum.
