Description: Rattle decorated with two power figures standing back to back. The figures imbedded spiritual abilities that could represent Maundu and Malanda. These two figures were responsible for the preservation of the local society’s wellbeing. Beneath the figures there is a wreath made of cut tree fruit hanging from threads. The object may have been used in a particular ritual group belonging to the Bakimba people.
Captain Hedemark gave this object to the Ethnographic museum, approx. 1905-1915.
