I was Associate Professor for the History of Science and Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in Chennai, India from 2015 to 2023, and Lecturer in History of Science at the University of Regensburg, Germany from 2007 to 2014

My research interests include:

  • History of scientific instruments, collections, research technologies and scientific practice
  • History of the physical sciences and engineering of the late 19th and 20th century
  • History of science education and technical training
  • Indo-German collaboration in science and technology during the Cold War
  • History of arts and craft as technology in South India
  • History of acoustics, electromagnetism and nuclear physics
